Brow Lift for Men
Serving Houston, Pearland, Sugarland and Friendswood
The eyebrow lift (also known as a forehead lift) is becoming an increasingly popular cosmetic surgery procedure for men to minimize the appearance of wrinkles in the area above the eyes. A brow lift smoothes the forehead, raises the upper eyelids, and reduces frown lines from the area above the eyes.
A brow lift is just one of the many facial procedures that cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Leo Lapuerta, performs in his Pearland and Houston area office. Regardless of the gender of a patient seeking an eyebrow lift, the goal of the lift is to restore the eyebrows to a youthful position and to smooth out those frown lines and forehead creases. Facial cosmetic surgery, a once-taboo subject for men, is gaining popularity, especially among 30 to 50-year-old males.
Brow lifts for men are often combined with upper eyelid surgery to fully address the eyelid hooding that not only takes away from the attractiveness of your eyes but can also obstruct your vision. Brow lift surgery in men presents a unique set of goals and challenges for Dr. Lapuerta, and these considerations are kept in mind to attain a natural-looking, functional male brow lift surgery result.
Some of the most common signs of aging that lead our male patients to seek eyebrow lift surgery are:
- Sagging eyebrows
- Forehead lines/creases
- Hooded eyelids
Male vs. Female Brows
Male eyebrows start at a lower position than female eyebrows, so drooping eyebrows can cause more severe problems, including impaired or obstructed vision. For this reason, male brow lift surgery is especially helpful in correcting this vision problem. In addition to correcting obstructed vision, a brow lift will give our male patients a more youthful look and better eyebrow position. Though the youthful female brow is usually arched, the male brow is more horizontal. A highly skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeon such as Dr. Lapuerta will not lift or arch the male brow too high as this can lead to a more feminine look or unnatural appearance of the brow. Dr. Lapuerta will lift the male brow horizontally but take care not to lift it too high.
Hair loss is another factor that Dr. Lapuerta must take into consideration while performing a brow lift on a male. We certainly do not want to accentuate hair loss, and there are strategies the doctor can employ to ensure there is no extra attention drawn to thinning hair.
In addition to brow lifts, Dr. Lapuerta performs other cosmetic surgery procedures on our male patients including:
- Male Breast Reduction to help with a condition known as gynecomastia
- Liposuction
- Facelift
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
- Surgery for Poland's Syndrome
- Nose surgery (rhinoplasty)
- Ear surgery (otoplasty)
