Buttock Augmentation / Fat Transfer

Today, with plastic surgery procedures on the rise, more individuals are seeking to improve their body contour, reverse the visible signs of aging and opt to change various imperfect features than ever before. The fat transfer procedure, also referred to as autologous fat transplantation or micro-lipoinjection, uses a patient's own fat to plump up other areas of the body, such as the lips, face and buttocks. It is a safe, non-allergenic procedure for body contouring. The fat transfer procedure can also add definition to the lips, cheeks, chin and neck. Fat transfer lasts longer when injected into areas with less muscle action. For this reason Dr. Lapuerta has been very successful in using fat transfer for augmentation of the buttocks.

During the fat transfer procedure, the fat is drawn with a small syringe from areas of the body where fat is tightly packed, such as the abdomen. Before reinjection, it goes through a process to remove excess fluids. Afterwards, using a different needle with local anesthesia, the fat is then injected just under the skin beneath the targeted area and repeated until the desired effect has been accomplished.

The recovery period from the fat transfer procedure is very minimal with patients returning to normal activity the following day.
