Botox ® injections can be made around common sites for wrinkles such as the forehead, neck, between the brows, below the eyes, and around the mouth. Botox ® works by temporarily relaxing the muscles surrounding the injection site, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin. As Botox ® is only administered via injections, it is an outpatient, non-invasive procedure, allowing thousands of people to achieve younger-looking skin without surgery.

In our office, only board certified Houston Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Leo Lapuerta administers Botox ®. Dr. Lapuerta’s many years of experience dealing with the complex anatomy of the face allows him to safely and effectively provide the results possible with Botox ®. If you're concerned about any side effects of Botox ®, it's important to note that the only side effect is muscle weakness surrounding the injection site. As a result, you may have some degree of difficulty making certain expressions such as frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting; however, this does subside as time from the injection passes. Since such small doses of Botox ® are used in each injection, it has been shown to be a safe means to reduce wrinkles and there are no long-term side effects from repeated injections.
