What is BOTOX ®?

BOTOX ® is a sterile form of botulinum toxin A. This toxin is produced by the same bacterium that causes food poisoning (botulism). It is injected into areas of the face where wrinkles form and works by relaxing, or temporarily paralyzing, the muscles around the injection site. The result is smoother looking skin.
