Are You a Candidate for a Breast Reduction?
A number of factors might prompt a woman, or even a man for that matter, into undergoing breast reduction surgery. Oversized and disproportionately large breasts not only can lead to social embarrassment, lower self-esteem, and a lack of confidence, but can also lead to a number of serious and debilitating health problems. Decreased mobility, skeletal deformities, extreme neck, back, and shoulder pain, disrupted sleep patterns, difficulty breathing, and severe headaches are just some of the health issues associated with overly large breasts. A number of factors may have contributed to oversized breasts, including breast hypertrophy, persistent enlargement caused by pregnancy, and even gynecomastia, a medical disorder experience by 40-60% of men in which their breasts grow larger than normal. These factors, combined with the effects listed above, make for ideal breast reduction surgery candidate. Breast reduction surgery candidates must also have fully matured breasts, so as to prevent further growth and possible repeat surgeries.
Oversized or disproportionately large breasts can be devastating for both men and women, physically and mentally. If you or a loved one is suffering from this condition, please contact Leo Lapuerta Jr. and his expert staff at The Plastic Surgery Institute of Southeast Texas to learn about breast reduction surgery and if you are a candidate. It’s never too early to reclaim your body and your life.
